Thats my dream come true. Why can’t just Microsoft buy the nifty little browser company and get on with it instead of beating an old dead horse called Internet Explorer?
Imagine the reach Microsoft has on the mobile phone market where Opera already is a leader. Imagine Opera’s excellent Engineering team gets done with the really big money MS brings in. Imagine Microsoft asking users to upgrade to Opera from IE8 and every company worth its salt does it. Imagine the boost Internet standards get with MS on board? Imagine Google CEO’s throwing chairs all around! Imagine the head start they get vis-a-vis all other browsers in the market. Imagine their reach into linux where Opera already has a small hold. All they have to do is buy this small company from Norway. Just imagine!
I had written about Microsoft and Yahoo in a different blog a few years ago and it almost happened! Let’s see if this one works out.
